Minister of Foreign Affairs, International Cooperation and Egyptian Expatriates Badr Abdelatty held a high-level meeting on Sunday, September 20, 2026, with UN Under-Secretary-General for Humanitarian Affairs and Emergency Relief Coordinator Tom Fletcher. Taking place on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly in New York, the discussion focused on the worsening humanitarian conditions in Gaza and Sudan.

During the meeting, Abdelatty underscored the critical necessity of guaranteeing full humanitarian access to Gaza, ensuring the safety of civilians, and kickstarting early recovery and reconstruction initiatives.
