Actor Ahmed al-Awady Issues Public Apology to Yasmin Abdel Aziz After Controversial Car Analogy Sparks Online Backlash

Egyptian actor Ahmed al-Awady has publicly addressed a major social media controversy stemming from a recent media appearance on the show Qessati (“My Story”), where he used a car analogy to describe different phases of his life.

Following widespread online backlash and misinterpretations, Awady took to Facebook to clarify his remarks, writing: “I truly meant no disrespect to anyone on Qessati, and I hold full respect for all.” He emphasized that the circulating statements were misinterpreted by those spreading them, explaining that his comparison referred strictly to life stages rather than romantic relationships.

“I apologize if anyone misunderstood the core message of my words. I hold all the respect and appreciation for the Arab world’s leading star, and I have stated repeatedly throughout the interview that I cherish fond memories of everyone who has entered my life,” Awady stated. He added, “I apologize to her if some misinterpreted my words. An apology is necessary whenever my remarks are taken out of context. This post is to set the record straight, and I reiterate my apology once more.”

Concluding his public statement, the actor expressed deep gratitude toward Yasmin Abdel Aziz, acknowledging her significant impact on his career. “On that note, I owe a great deal to Yasmin Abdel Aziz throughout my career. I deeply value and respect her, and I wish her continued success and brilliance, as always,” he concluded.
