Minister of Foreign Affairs, International Cooperation, and Egyptian Expatriates Badr Abdelatty emphasized on Saturday, September 26, 2026, that the Egypt-Japan University of Science and Technology (E-JUST) stands as a cornerstone of educational collaboration between Egypt and Japan. Speaking via a recorded video address at a graduation ceremony in Alexandria for E-JUST’s 2025 and 2026 classes, the Minister highlighted the institution's vital role in fostering bilateral ties, cultivating skilled professionals, facilitating modern technology transfer, and strengthening scientific cooperation.
Abdelatty underscored that education remains a pivotal element in the diplomatic relationship between Cairo and Tokyo, noting joint efforts to establish more than 100 Japanese schools across Egypt. He expressed gratitude to Japan for its unwavering support in the educational sector and commended E-JUST for extending postgraduate scholarships to students throughout African nations. Concluding his remarks, the Minister congratulated the graduates, expressing confidence that their technological expertise and knowledge will significantly aid Egypt's national development.
President of Egypt-Japan University of Science and Technology Ahmed el Sabbagh echoed these sentiments, noting that E-JUST continuously equips its students to adapt to rapid advancements in technology, artificial intelligence, and the knowledge economy. He further explained that the university is actively enhancing its academic and research initiatives while broadening partnerships with industrial and academic entities in both Egypt and Japan. The celebratory event drew notable figures including Alexandria Governor Ayman Attia, Japanese Ambassador to Egypt Iwai Fumio, the ambassadors of Kenya and Malawi, alongside various educational and governmental officials.
