A series of intense Russian military strikes across Ukraine has left at least 22 people injured in Kharkiv, including children, following nationwide attacks that killed eight people. Kharkiv Mayor Ihor Terekov reported on Telegram that a guided Russian aerial bomb struck an apartment building early Monday, destroying two floors and injuring six children.

Additional Russian attacks were reported nationwide on Sunday. Ukrainian Minister of Internal Affairs Ivan Vyhivskyi stated that three individuals, including a 16-year-old girl, lost their lives in air strikes that caused damage to a children’s centre located in Sumy. In the Black Sea region of Odesa, local authorities described a massive strike that resulted in one death and widespread damage to residential buildings, a shop, a hotel, a medical facility, and a grain warehouse.

In the capital city of Kyiv, Mayor Vitali Klitschko confirmed that a woman and two 16-year-olds sustained injuries and required hospitalization. The city administration reported that 16 different locations suffered damage, encompassing 12 houses, a warehouse, and a production facility.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy noted that three people were killed in the Zaporizhia region, while a separate drone strike claimed the life of a man in Kyiv. Via his X account, Zelenskyy detailed that Russia deployed more than 2,200 attack drones, 1,630 aerial bombs, and 38 missiles over the preceding week. He criticized the escalation, stating that such actions contradict any claims of working toward de-escalation with American negotiators.

Conversely, the Ministry of Defence in Moscow claimed responsibility for bombing a Kyivstar data centre and an Omega Telecom facility in Kyiv, alleging both companies supplied services to the Ukrainian military. Meanwhile, Russian Minister of Foreign Affairs Sergey Lavrov addressed the United Nations General Assembly in New York, affirming Moscow's intent to pursue its military campaign to completion.

In response, Ukrainian drones targeted an oil depot in the Krasnodar region of Russia on Monday. Footage shared by the Ukrainian Telegram channel Exilenova+ revealed a large fire at the Pavlovskaya oil depot, though no injuries were immediately reported as Ukraine continues its strategy against Russian oil infrastructure.

Despite United States-led diplomatic efforts to resolve the conflict that began with Russia's full-scale invasion in February 2022, no breakthroughs have been achieved, and the United Nations continues to raise alarms over the escalating civilian toll. Both warring sides maintain denials regarding the targeting of civilians.
