UAE Prosecutor General Alleges Flydubai Co-Pilot Launched Terrorist Attack with Crash Axe in Cockpit

According to (Al Jazeera), the prosecutor general of the United Arab Emirates has stated that a Flydubai co-pilot "attempted to carry out a terrorist act" during flight FZ1073 earlier this week, employing a crash axe to attack the pilot within the cockpit.

State news agency WAM reported on Saturday that Hamad Saif al-Shamsi indicated the attacker on Wednesday’s flight FZ1073 also sought to seize control of the aircraft’s flight controls.

Al Shamsi noted that an investigation is presently ongoing "to uncover all the circumstances of the incident, its motives, and related connections, in addition to completing technical examinations and examining physical and digital evidence." The final results are set to be announced once the required procedures are concluded, according to Al Shamsi.

A crash axe is standard equipment kept in a cockpit to assist pilots in cutting through the plane during emergency situations. Further updates are expected to follow.
