The Egyptian Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities is actively monitoring the travel of Egyptian Umrah pilgrims between Egypt and Saudi Arabia. This close oversight is being conducted in collaboration with relevant authorities in both nations, in response to current regional developments that have led to certain flight schedule disruptions.

Minister of Tourism and Antiquities Sherif Fathy has mandated an intensification of field monitoring and communication with tourism companies that organize Umrah trips. The objective is to swiftly identify and address any situations that could impact travel programs, ensuring the seamless operation of flights and the quality of services provided to pilgrims throughout the season.

According to Samia Sami, Assistant Minister of Tourism and Antiquities for Tourism Companies Affairs, the ministry's committees are continuously tracking Umrah programs and pilgrim movements. These committees are stationed at key locations including Cairo International Airport, King Abdulaziz International Airport in Jeddah, and Prince Mohammad Bin Abdulaziz International Airport in Medina, with additional field teams present in Mecca and Medina.

Sami emphasized the need to consider the exceptional nature of current regional conditions and the potential for flight delays. She also acknowledged the efforts of the Chamber of Tourism Establishments and Egyptian tourism companies in managing these challenges. Ongoing coordination with the Saudi side and all involved parties aims to minimize the impact of any delays, protect the rights of Umrah pilgrims, support tourism companies, and mitigate the repercussions of regional events on Umrah programs. Citizens are urged to adhere to the directives of all authorities responsible for air traffic regulation, operation, and safety measures.

The Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities further advises tourism companies organizing Umrah trips to maintain constant communication with carriers regarding flight schedules. They are also instructed to promptly inform pilgrims of any updates or changes to travel times, providing necessary guidance for their journeys and safe returns.
