Bollywood icon Shah Rukh Khan is set to launch UNIFYD, a new music festival slated for Abu Dhabi next year. The inaugural event, scheduled for March 20 at Etihad Live on Yas Island, will feature a stellar lineup of Indian artists. Among the first performers announced are acclaimed singers Arijit Singh, Karan Aujla, and Sonu Nigam.
The one-day festival aims to unite over 15 artists across multiple stages, celebrating Indian music and culture. UNIFYD is being produced by D'Yavol Live and District, in partnership with the Department of Culture and Tourism in Abu Dhabi and Miral. Shah Rukh Khan will lend his expertise to the festival's artistic direction and creative vision.
Khan expressed his enthusiasm, stating, "I’ve spent a lifetime telling stories on screen and watching them bring people together. Music has that same extraordinary power. UNIFYD, produced by D'Yavol Live along with District, will unite India’s most incredible artists on a shared stage for the first time. The festival promises to be a true spectacle in terms of its scale, energy and grandeur."
This venture marks another significant event for Khan in Abu Dhabi, following his hosting of the IIFA Awards on Yas Island in 2024. The festival's initial lineup includes artists from Hindi film music and Punjabi music genres, with Sonu Nigam set to perform a special set, marking his first-ever music festival appearance.
Organizers have ambitious plans to extend UNIFYD to other cities and international markets following its Abu Dhabi debut. Bunty Singh, co-founder of D’Yavol Live, commented, "Indian music is already global. UNIFYD gives that cultural force a festival platform that matches its scale, ambition and influence. Bringing together artists of this stature on the same day, in a line-up that has never existed before, is what makes the first edition so special."
Tickets for UNIFYD will be exclusively available through the District app, with general sales commencing at 10:30 am on October 20. Ticket prices are yet to be disclosed.
