Egypt Braces for Cooler Weather: Rain and a 3°C Temperature Drop Expected Friday

The Egyptian Meteorological Authority has issued a forecast for varying weather conditions across Cairo and Egypt's governorates. Residents in the northern coasts, Greater Cairo, Lower Egypt, and northern Upper Egypt can anticipate mildly warm daytime temperatures. However, southern Upper Egypt and South Sinai will experience hotter conditions. As evening approaches, most parts of the country will feel a cool change, with temperatures potentially dropping by up to 3°C.

Morning fog is predicted to form on key roads leading to and from the north of the country, extending down to Greater Cairo, the Canal cities, central Sinai, and northern Upper Egypt. There is a 40 percent probability of scattered rainfall, ranging from moderate to occasionally heavy, expected over parts of the northern coasts and northern Lower Egypt. Light to moderate rain may also occur over central and southern Lower Egypt, and the Canal cities. This rainfall could extend to areas in Greater Cairo, northern Upper Egypt, and as far south as Halaib and Shalateen, with a 20 percent to 30 percent probability. Additionally, active winds are anticipated across parts of the northern coasts, Lower Egypt, Greater Cairo, and South Sinai.
