Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly has reaffirmed the government's dedication to advancing the social protection system and fostering greater synergy among its policies and programs. This initiative aims to effectively address the fundamental needs of citizens, ensure the judicious use of resources, and specifically target vulnerable populations.

This commitment was underscored during a meeting convened by the Prime Minister on Sunday, October 18, 2026. The session focused on reviewing the latest developments concerning the "Market Regulation and a More Effective Social Protection System" discussion, a key component of the preparatory activities for the "Egypt Forum 2026." This significant forum is slated to commence on October 19, 2026, and will continue through October 24, 2026, in the New Administrative Capital. The meeting was attended by Social Solidarity Minister Maya Morsy, Supply and Internal Trade Minister Sherif Farouk, Planning and Economic Development Minister Ahmed Rostom, and Akram al-Gohary, Head of the Central Agency for Public Mobilization and Statistics (CAPMAS).

Prime Minister Madbouly emphasized that the meeting's purpose was to follow up on the preparations for the "Market Regulation and a More Effective Social Protection System" session at Egypt Forum 2026. He highlighted the critical importance of this topic due to its direct impact on the state's endeavors to elevate citizens' quality of life and bolster social stability.

During the proceedings, the primary themes for the session were thoroughly examined. The objective is to ensure comprehensive coverage of social protection and security dimensions, showcase the government's efforts in strengthening the social protection framework and supporting food security, and promote cohesive integration across various government policies and programs. These collective efforts are designed to optimize the utilization of available resources and elevate the living standards of the populace.

The meeting also provided an overview of the government's initiatives to guarantee the availability of essential commodities in sufficient quantities and maintain consistent supply chains. Discussions delved into strategies for reinforcing market stability, which include continuous monitoring of inventory levels, increased inspections of markets and retail establishments, and decisive action against monopolistic practices and price manipulation. These measures are intended to safeguard consumer rights and alleviate the financial pressures faced by citizens.

Furthermore, the meeting addressed the strategic objectives for the upcoming period and the methodologies for refining related programs and initiatives. A key emphasis was placed on the necessity of articulating both achievements and existing challenges to enhance governmental performance, improve responsiveness to the needs of targeted groups, and reinforce the state's commitment to consolidating social protection and security.
