Prince Harry and Meghan Prepare for Shock Return to Britain After Years Abroad

Prince Harry and his wife Meghan, Duchess of Sussex are planning to move back to Britain, six years after stepping back from official duties and relocating to the US. The couple intends to move to a private residence outside London and has reportedly enrolled their children Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet in British schools.

King Charles was first informed of the relocation plans on Sunday. While the King welcomes the opportunity to see more of the Sussex family privately, it has been made clear that there will be no change to the Duke and Duchess's status as non-working members of the royal family.

The couple previously left the UK for North America in 2020, citing tabloid intrusion, racism in British institutions, online abuse, and complex family dynamics. Despite previous tensions and an ongoing legal dispute regarding taxpayer-funded security, recent family visits—including a gathering at Highgrove House hosted by King Charles and Queen Camilla—have signaled a potential thawing in relations.
