Sheikh Khaled bin Mohamed, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi, has commenced an official visit to Greece aimed at further strengthening the burgeoning relationship between the two nations. Upon his arrival at Athens International Airport, Sheikh Khaled was welcomed by George Gerapetritis, the Greek Minister of Foreign Affairs, as reported by the state news agency Wam on Thursday morning. This visit is undertaken at the invitation of Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis, with whom Sheikh Khaled is scheduled to engage in significant discussions during his stay. The visit carries particular importance as both allies commemorate the 50th anniversary of the establishment of formal diplomatic relations. Over the decades, UAE-Greece relations have seen substantial growth, fortified by a comprehensive strategic partnership that spans critical sectors including the economy, investment, energy, and technology. This year alone, President Sheikh Mohamed has held multiple phone calls with Mr. Mitsotakis, underscoring the robust friendship between the two countries. In May, President Sheikh Mohamed hosted Mr. Mitsotakis in Abu Dhabi for high-level discussions focused on collaboration across economic, investment, technology, artificial intelligence, renewable energy, sustainability, infrastructure, and cultural domains. Sheikh Khaled is accompanied by a distinguished delegation, which includes Dr. Sultan Al Jaber, Minister of Industry and Advanced Technology and managing director and group chief executive of Adnoc; Reem Al Hashimy, Minister of State for International Co-operation; Dr. Thani Al Zeyoudi, Minister of Foreign Trade; and Mohamed Alsuwaidi, Minister of Investment.
