Preparations are underway for the fifth edition of the Mubadala Abu Dhabi Open, scheduled to take place at Zayed Sports City from January 30 to February 6, 2027. The International Tennis Centre will host the WTA 500 tournament, which last season attracted over 60,000 spectators, solidifying its position as a premier event on the global tennis circuit. The 2027 competition will feature 28 singles players and 16 doubles teams competing over eight days, offering a prize fund of $1.2 million and valuable WTA ranking points.
Aref Hamad Al Awani, Secretary General of Abu Dhabi Sports Council, highlighted the significance of the fifth edition, stating, “The fifth edition of the Mubadala Abu Dhabi Open is another important milestone for Abu Dhabi’s sporting journey. The tournament has grown significantly in just a few years, while its impact reaches beyond the court through its engagement with young players, schools and the wider community. Through these initiatives, we aim to support the development of tennis, strengthen sporting culture and encourage people to make sport a way of life.”
Homaid Al Shimmari, deputy group CEO of Mubadala Investment Company, added, “The Mubadala Abu Dhabi Open reflects our long-standing commitment to tennis and to creating a positive impact in our community. Beyond bringing the world’s best players to Abu Dhabi, the tournament serves as a platform to inspire young people, encourage greater participation in sport, and bring families and communities together.”

This area will feature live entertainment, tennis clinics, player Q&As, food and beverage options, sponsor activations, children's activities, and merchandise. The Village pass will also include access to all qualifying matches on January 30-31. Adult Village passes are priced at Dh10 per day, with children under 12 admitted free during the opening weekend.
The tournament has also distinguished itself by being the first WTA-only event to host a wheelchair tennis tournament, underscoring its commitment to inclusivity and expanding opportunities in the sport. Attendees will need a valid ticket for entry and/or participation in Mubadala Village activities. Ticket information is available on the official website.
