Binance has launched an extensive regional campaign, Qafila 2026, to engage eligible users in celebrating their financial journeys and exploring a wider array of digital financial instruments. The initiative kicks off with a substantial reward pool of US$1 million in USDC, aimed at users across the Middle East, North Africa (MENA), and Pakistan. Recent data from Binance, recognized as the world's largest cryptocurrency exchange by trading volume and user base, indicates that 50% of its users in this region fall within the 18-29 age bracket. Binance states that Qafila underscores its dedication to growing with its community as user needs expand to encompass trading, earning, payments, education, and access to global financial markets. This campaign emerges amidst a notable increase in digital financial engagement across the region, with Binance's user data highlighting the significant impact of Generation Z and the broader adoption of digital financial services in MENA and Pakistan. The 18-29 demographic, representing adult Gen Z, constitutes half of Binance's user base in MENA and Pakistan, reaching 54% in Pakistan. Tarik Erk, head of MENAT and senior executive officer at Binance, explained that this trend emphasizes the crucial role of younger generations in shaping the evolving digital financial landscape of the region. "MENA and Pakistan are priority markets for Binance, where growing digital adoption is changing what users expect from financial services," Erk told The National. "Our focus is to evolve alongside our community, bringing greater choice, practical utility and education into one ecosystem through our vision of All Finance on Binance." Erk further elaborated, "Qafila celebrates that community and the different ambitions driving its financial journey." The name 'Qafila,' inspired by the concept of a caravan, draws on a familiar idea in Arabic- and Urdu-speaking cultures, signifying collective progress towards individual aspirations. The initiative aims to embody this shared purpose within a regional experience, connecting users across different markets through engagement, exploration, and rewards. Beyond demographic insights, Binance's regional data also reveals increasing interaction with its ecosystem. Over half (52.9%) of verified users in MENA and Pakistan have utilized two or more Binance products. The UAE leads in adoption rates at 69.3%, followed by Bahrain at 57.2%, and Pakistan at 52.6%. The Binance ecosystem now offers a comprehensive suite of services, including trading, earning, payments, Binance Square, and Binance Academy, reflecting its expansion beyond trading to integrate financial tools, education, and community interaction on a single platform. These trends align with broader developments in digital financial participation across emerging markets. Previous Binance research identified the region as the fastest-growing for stablecoin savings on Binance Earn, with its share of global stablecoin balances increasing from 5.53% to 9.21%. The region's share of global stablecoin trading volume on Binance also grew from 7% in 2023 to 11% this year, marking it as the fastest-growing region by trading volume share during that period. Within MENA, the UAE holds the largest stablecoin reserves, underscoring the region's increasing use of digital assets for trading, value storage, and earning rewards. These regional advancements are part of a larger global shift in financial participation within emerging economies. Binance's global platform data shows that 77% of its users are now based in these growth economies, a significant increase from 49% in 2020. Global Binance Research further highlights the rise of a new generation of financial users, with Gen Z comprising 44% of Binance Direct Stocks and bStocks users. Their share of new TradFi users also rose from 41% in January to 47% in July 2026. These global findings underscore the growing involvement of younger users in traditional financial markets via digital platforms, emphasizing the importance of accessibility, choice, and financial education, according to Binance. The exchange notes that these evolving user needs are reflected in its 'All Finance on Binance' vision, which unifies digital assets, traditional financial markets, and everyday financial tools within a single ecosystem. Qafila enhances this vision for eligible communities across the region by fostering shared participation and access to locally relevant products and services. Participants can engage in various activities on the Binance platform, including trading, Simple Earn, and community referral programs, subject to market regulations. The Qafila initiative offers a total reward pool of US$1 million in USDC to enrich the user experience, with specific tasks, eligibility criteria, and rewards varying by market and user. Binance describes this regional initiative as a "shared journey" shaped by diverse ambitions, practical requirements, and varied approaches to digital finance participation.
