Egyptian star Mohamed Salah marked his 150th appearance in UEFA competitions with a significant contribution of a goal and an assist, leading Trabzonspor to a 2-0 win over Scottish side Hearts in the Europa Conference League. Despite Hearts coming close when Malachi Fagan-Walcott struck the post, Trabzonspor took the lead through Salah, who converted a penalty following a foul on Tomas Bent Magnusson. Shortly before the hour mark, the Egypt international set up Dju Franculino for an impressive finish, extending the lead. This victory also marked the club's 200th continental goal. Although Trabzonspor faced a setback with Sidny Lopes Cabral receiving a red card in added time, reducing them to 10 men, they successfully held on to secure the win.
Salah has been in exceptional form for the Turkish club. Earlier this month, he set a new Turkish Super Lig record, becoming the fastest player to achieve 10 goal contributions. He provided an assist in Trabzonspor's victory against Samsunspor, marking his third assist of the current campaign. Having moved from Liverpool in the summer, Salah reached double figures in goal contributions in just seven games for his new team, scoring seven goals. He has since increased his tally to eight goals in the Super Lig.
In other European action, Bournemouth achieved a remarkable 3-0 home victory against 10-man AC Milan in the Europa League, securing their third consecutive win in the opening three games. Justin Kluivert and Marcus Tavernier converted first-half penalties to give Bournemouth the advantage. AC Milan's goalkeeper and captain, Mike Maignan, was sent off early for a foul on Tyler Adams, a blow from which his team could not recover. Amine Adli added a third goal in the 84th minute. "It means a lot. We came off two victories, so that gave us a good feeling for this game," Kluivert told TNT Sports. "We trust ourselves. It doesn't matter who we play against. We know what we're capable of, and I think we showed that today."
