Russia's air defence forces successfully neutralized the vast majority of 613 drones launched towards Moscow overnight, in what is being described as a significant assault on the Russian capital, according to reports from the Russian state news agency TASS. Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin stated via Telegram that air defence systems destroyed 231 unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) as they approached the city, with the remaining drones being neutralized at more distant approaches between Wednesday evening and Thursday morning. This incident represents the latest in a series of substantial drone attacks targeting the Moscow region, following a record-breaking attack in September where air defence forces reported downing over 1,600 drones.

Concurrently, Russia launched an attack on Kharkiv, Ukraine's second-largest city, causing damage to an educational institution, as reported by Mayor Ihor Terekhov on Telegram.
