Flag carrier EgyptAir has officially launched non-stop service between Cairo International Airport and Birmingham Airport, as part of its newly inaugurated winter schedule. This expansion marks a significant increase in its footprint within the United Kingdom.
The route will operate four times weekly, with flights scheduled for Tuesdays, Thursdays, Fridays, and Sundays. EgyptAir will utilize its modern Boeing 737 MAX 8 fleet for these services. With this new addition, Birmingham becomes EgyptAir’s third destination in the UK, complementing its existing daily operations to London Heathrow and Manchester.
This strategic connection aims to serve two key objectives: facilitating direct travel for the considerable Egyptian diaspora residing in the West Midlands and capitalizing on Birmingham's status as a major UK economic and industrial hub. By establishing a direct link between central England and Cairo, the route enables smooth one-stop connections to EgyptAir’s extensive network across Africa, the Middle East, and Asia.
Airline leadership indicated that this expansion is a response to the growing demand for both commercial and leisure travel between Egypt and the UK. Furthermore, it provides regional UK passengers with an efficient transit option through Cairo’s international hub.
