Dubai has launched an innovative tourism loyalty program, described as a world first, aimed at rewarding repeat visitors. This initiative is a key component of the emirate's strategy to solidify its position as a premier global destination for both leisure and business. The program was unveiled by Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed, Crown Prince of Dubai, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defence.
In conjunction with the loyalty program, Dubai plans to broaden access to tourist visas, further incentivizing international travel. Sheikh Hamdan emphasized that this initiative aligns with the Dubai government's objective to make the city the preferred choice for travelers worldwide and a global benchmark for quality and service.
This strategic move is the latest effort by the Dubai government to stimulate growth in its vital tourism sector, particularly in light of geopolitical challenges. The new measures, set to be implemented this month, have been developed collaboratively by the General Directorate of Identity and Foreigners Affairs – Dubai (GDRFA Dubai), the Dubai Department of Economy and Tourism (DET), and Digital Dubai, as part of the Shared Digital Channels Initiative.
“We are committed to positioning Dubai among the world’s top three tourism destinations through initiatives that enrich every stage of the visitor journey and set new standards for hospitality and service excellence,” stated Sheikh Hamdan. He further added, “Tourism is a key pillar of Dubai’s economy. By harnessing technology, fostering innovation and strengthening public-private partnerships, we aim to attract more investment, open up new opportunities and strengthen the sector’s contribution to long-term growth, in line with the Dubai Economic Agenda, D33.”
As part of the tourism enhancement plans, the government will introduce the Dubai Access Club, a membership program designed for frequent visitors. Invited members will gain access to exclusive experiences, services, and benefits, though specific details of these perks have not yet been disclosed.
Furthermore, the Shared Digital Channels Initiative will see an increased integration of government services, including tourist visa applications, into Visit Dubai, the official tourism portal for the city. The Visit Dubai platform will facilitate applications for single-entry and multiple-entry tourist visas, with provisions for introducing additional visa categories in the future. GDRFA Dubai will continue to oversee the assessment and issuance of all visa applications, with further service-related announcements expected soon.
