The Egyptian Meteorological Authority (EMA) has issued a forecast indicating that temperatures will continue to climb across most regions of Egypt on Monday. The daytime is expected to be hot in many areas, intensifying to very hot in the southern parts of Upper Egypt. However, a cooler transition is anticipated during the night and early morning hours nationwide.
In Greater Cairo and Lower Egypt, maximum temperatures are projected to reach between 31C and 32C, with overnight lows ranging from 19C to 20C. The northern coastal areas will experience maximum temperatures between 28C and 31C, and minimum temperatures between 18C and 22C.
For northern Upper Egypt, maximum temperatures are forecast to be between 32C and 34C, with minimums between 18C and 19C. Southern Upper Egypt is expected to record the highest temperatures, with maximums reaching between 36C and 37C, and minimums ranging from 19C to 22C.
The EMA also forecasts a possibility of light, intermittent rain in parts of the northern coastal governorates and northern Lower Egypt. Winds are expected to strengthen, with speeds of 30-40 km/h, affecting areas including the northwestern coast, the Western Desert, and exposed regions of Greater Cairo, Lower Egypt, the Suez Canal cities, and Upper Egypt. These winds carry the potential to stir up sand and dust.
Additionally, scattered low-level clouds may form over Greater Cairo, southern Lower Egypt, and the Suez Canal cities, possibly leading to a light, insignificant drizzle in some locations.
