Formula One chief executive Stefano Domenicali has reaffirmed that the 2026 season will officially conclude in Abu Dhabi, dismissing earlier uncertainties surrounding the December event.

Concerns had previously emerged regarding the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix due to regional tensions stemming from the Iran war. Although races in Bahrain and Saudi Arabia had been called off in March—with Bahrain since rescheduled for October 4 to be staged in Malaysia—F1 remains firm on its schedule. Stefano Domenicali had previously floated the idea of moving the season finale to Europe, pointing to Imola as a potential alternative if racing in Qatar on November 29 and Abu Dhabi on December 6 became unviable.

However, speaking to Formula One's official website during the Formula 1 Dutch Grand Prix at the Zandvoort racetrack, the 61-year-old Italian insisted that the organization is fully committed to finishing the campaign in the Middle East as originally planned.

“The calendar is confirmed. There are still a few tickets to be sold in Abu Dhabi… and we stay focused on delivering the calendar we promised at the beginning of the year,” Stefano Domenicali stated, adding that preparations are moving forward successfully.

Saood Abdulaziz Al Hosani, undersecretary of the Department of Culture and Tourism – Abu Dhabi, emphasized the pride the region takes in hosting the race, which has been a staple since 2009. He noted that the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix significantly boosts the local tourism, hospitality, and events sectors.

Meanwhile, Saif Rashid Al Noaimi, CEO of race promoters Ethara, confirmed that preparations at the Yas Marina Circuit are well underway. Alongside the racing action, concert lineups featuring Andrea Bocelli, Zara Larsson, Lewis Capaldi, and Imagine Dragons are locked in for the annual event, with additional artists set to be announced.

Ethara reported that ticket availability is now limited and encouraged fans to check the official website for remaining options as anticipation builds for the Formula 1 Etihad Airways Abu Dhabi Grand Prix season finale.
