Kylian Mbappe's Brilliant Hat-Trick Powers Real Madrid to 4-1 Victory Over Real Sociedad

Real Madrid's French forward Kylian Mbappe delivered a stellar performance, scoring a brilliant hat-trick to lead Real Madrid to a convincing 4-1 victory against Real Sociedad in La Liga. This marked Jose Mourinho’s first home match back at the SantiagoBehaviour as the club’s coach, bringing Mourinho’s Madrid to two wins from two.

Vinicius Junior also added to the scoresheet, while Jude Bellingham contributed two assists as the star trio dismantled their Basque visitors. Veteran Portuguese coach Mourinho kept the same lineup that secured a late 2-1 win at Espanyol in his debut match last weekend. Although Mourinho had noted the challenge of bringing the team’s three biggest names to their best, this match demonstrated positive progress.

The open start to the game saw Vinicius fire over and Alex Remiro make a low save at his near post from Mbappe. At the opposite end, Real Madrid goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois stopped a dangerous effort from Mikel Oyarzabal. Remiro denied Vinicius once more after Mbappe set him up, while Sergio Gomez narrowly missed Courtois’s far post with a fierce volley.

Five minutes before the interval, Federico Valverde set up Mbappe for the opening breakthrough. The French forward skillfully evaded his marker and struck the ball into the top corner. However, Real Madrid conceded an equalizer just before half-time when Job Ochieng's blocked shot fell to Luka Sucic, who scored with a deflection off Alvaro Carreras.

Early in the second half, Remiro denied Mbappe following a pass from Arda Guler, but the goalkeeper could not stop the former Paris Saint-Germain star's subsequent attempt. A coordinated buildup involving Valverde and Bellingham allowed Bellingham to set up Mbappe for a calm finish.

Real Madrid's third goal came from Vinicius, aided by Bellingham's persistence. After Bellingham's initial shot was blocked, he recovered the ball inside the Real Sociedad area and provided an easy tap-in for Vinicius. Energized by his goal, the Brazilian delivered a perfectly weighted pass for Mbappe's third, sealing the hat-trick with a clever dink over Remiro.

Vinicius was substituted with seven minutes remaining, embracing Mourinho as record Madrid signing Yan Diomande took his place. Meanwhile, Spanish champions Barcelona are set to host Athletic Bilbao, with new signing Rodri expected to debut from the bench.
