Bruno Fernandes Stars with Hat-Trick as Manchester United Overpower Ipswich Town 5-2

Bruno Fernandes scored a stunning hat-trick as Manchester United bounced back in style, trouncing Ipswich Town 5-2 in their Premier League clash at Old Trafford on Sunday. Following a disappointing 2-0 opening-day loss at Hull City, United found themselves trailing early against another newly promoted side when Leif Davis finished clinically just before the half-hour mark.

However, Fernandes ignited the comeback by blasting United level in the 40th minute. The match turned decisively in a frantic five-minute spell after the interval, featuring an own goal from Jacob Greaves and a converted penalty by Fernandes. Despite Ipswich protests over a potential handball by Harry Maguire in the build-up, United pressed forward relentlessly.

Fernandes completed his hat-trick following blocked attempts from Kobbie Mainoo and Bryan Mbeumo, before Mbeumo capped off the scoring by lobbing Kjell Scherpen to hit the crossbar and spin over the line. Ipswich managed a late consolation goal through substitute Chuba Akpom, set up by Julio Enciso, but the day belonged to Erik ten Hag's side as Fernandes earned a stellar 9/10 player rating.
