Minister of Youth and Sports Gohar Nabil extended his congratulations on Sunday, August 30, 2026, to the Egyptian Modern Pentathlon Federation’s Board of Directors, led by Sherif al-Erian, alongside the national team's athletes, technical, administrative, and medical staff for their stellar performance at the Modern Pentathlon World Championships held in China.

The Egyptian delegation delivered a remarkable showing, securing a total of four medals comprising three silver and one bronze. Among the standout performers was rising star Farida Khalil, who captured a silver medal in the women’s individual competition. Khalil further contributed to Egypt's success by teaming up with Jana Attia and Janna al-Gendy to claim silver in the women’s team event.

Meanwhile, the men’s team consisting of Moataz Mohamed, Mohannad Shaaban, and Mohamed al Ashqar earned a silver medal in their respective team event. Additionally, Zeina Amer and Jana Attia added to the nation's medal count by securing bronze in the women’s relay event.

Minister Nabil commended the continuous efforts of the Egyptian Modern Pentathlon Federation and its unwavering support for the country's athletes, noting that these initiatives have solidified Egypt's status as a dominant force in the sport on the international stage.
