Manchester City have officially completed the signing of Allan Elias from Palmeiras in a transfer agreement worth up to £34m including add-ons. The 22-year-old Brazilian winger has put pen to paper on a five-year deal, pending international clearance, completing his move to Manchester just one week after his countryman Savino departed to sign for Tottenham Hotspur.
Allan becomes the sixth summer addition for City, following the arrivals of Elliot Anderson, Geronimo Rulli, Ayyoub Bouaddi, Jeremy Monga, and Pierce Charles. Meanwhile, speculation persists that Chelsea midfielder Enzo Fernandez remains on the club's radar ahead of the impending transfer window deadline on Tuesday.
Reflecting on his transfer, Allan stated, “This is a surreal moment for me. Manchester City, with everything they have won over the past 15 years, are one of the most attractive clubs in the world for players.”
City director of football Hugo Viana praised the new arrival, noting, “Allan is a really exciting player, and we think he will be a big addition to the squad.”
Under new manager Enzo Maresca, Manchester City have kicked off the season with back-to-back victories against Bournemouth and Crystal Palace, with a forthcoming fixture against Coventry City scheduled for Saturday.
