A heartwarming video capturing the moment Erling Haaland found out that Manchester City teammate Omar Marmoush was leaving the club has quickly gone viral on social media. The Egyptian forward secured a season-long loan move to Premier League rivals Tottenham Hotspur ahead of the recent transfer deadline.

In the footage, Haaland approaches Marmoush and asks, "What's going on? What are you doing? Get your training gear on; we're training soon." Marmoush replies that he must train "somewhere else" before the two players share an embrace. "All the best, Mozza. Are you going now?" Haaland inquires. "Yeah," Marmoush answers. "I'm flying out at three." The video concludes with Haaland jokingly warning, "You better not ghost me on Snapchat!"

Marmoush originally transferred to Manchester City in January 2025 for a reported fee of £59 million from German club Eintracht Frankfurt, finishing the 2024/25 campaign with 28 goals across his time with Frankfurt and City. Although he faced limited playing time during his second season, he contributed to the club's League Cup and FA Cup triumphs, finishing the 2025/26 campaign with eight goals in all competitions. He also shone for Egypt at the World Cup, guiding the Pharaohs to the last 16 in their deepest run at the global finals.

The 27-year-old followed fellow Manchester City teammate Savio in transferring to Tottenham, making his debut start for the London club in a 2-0 defeat against Newcastle United on Saturday. Tottenham's agreement with Manchester City includes an obligation to complete a permanent purchase of the player next summer for £60 million.
