Jessica Pegula Overcomes Emma Navarro to Book US Open Semifinal Clash with Aryna Sabalenka

Jessica Pegula, ranked third in the world and seeded third in the women's draw of the US Open, secured her place in the semifinals after grinding out a 3-6, 6-4, 6-3 victory over Emma Navarro. The hard-fought win on Arthur Ashe Stadium sets up a high-stakes clash with Aryna Sabalenka, the two-time defending champion and the world’s top-ranked women’s player.

Third-seeded Pegula spent two hours and 20 minutes overcoming Navarro in a tense baseline battle that featured nine breaks of serve, successfully recovering from an early break in the decisive third set. Reflecting on the match, Pegula admitted it was physical and humid, noting she was fighting many challenges on the court.

With this result, Pegula improved her head-to-head record to 5-0 against Navarro. Pegula now prepares to face Sabalenka, who previously defeated her in past tournament encounters at Flushing Meadows. Meanwhile, second-ranked Elena Rybakina also remains in contention for the top world ranking ahead of her upcoming quarterfinal match against Zheng Qinwen.
