Mohamed Awad, CEO of the General Authority for Investment and Free Zones (GAFI), recently participated in a high-level meeting alongside Minister of Planning and Economic Development Ahmed Rostom and various fintech entrepreneurs and companies to explore expansion and investment prospects across Egypt.
The discussions focused on recent progress within Egypt’s investment climate, highlighting high-potential areas such as technology, innovation, and digital financial services. During the session, Ahmed Rostom emphasized that the state is actively implementing a definitive strategy to champion entrepreneurship while actively tackling the operational and financial hurdles encountered by startups.
Highlighting the sector's potential, Mohamed Awad identified fintech as a highly promising industry as Egypt accelerates efforts to reinforce its digital economy and foster innovation and entrepreneurship. He reaffirmed that GAFI remains fully dedicated to backing investors and entrepreneurs, resolving their obstacles, and showcasing Egypt's competitive investment incentives and opportunities.
