Panic in Sharqiya as Viral Video Captures Large Crocodile in Local Canal

Residents of Ezbet al-Sidrah in Belbeis Center, Sharqiya Governorate, have raised urgent safety concerns after spotting a large crocodile along the banks of a local drainage canal. A widely shared video online captures the reptile emerging from the embankment before slipping back into the water.

Locals report that these sightings are happening more frequently, with multiple crocodiles seen swimming or basking on the banks in recent months. Community members recalled that authorities successfully captured and relocated another crocodile from the area last winter.

With heavy foot traffic near the water, residents are urgently calling on environmental and local authorities to thoroughly inspect the canal and implement strict measures to protect the public.
