Hull City winger Sorba Thomas emerged completely unscathed following a traffic collision near the team's training facility, the Premier League club announced on Friday.
According to British media reports, the vehicle ended up overturned on its roof during Friday morning in the village of Cottingham, located in the East Riding of Yorkshire. Photographs showing the inverted automobile surrounded by broken glass on a narrow road quickly spread across social media platforms.
In an official statement, Hull City expressed relief over the incident: “Hull City is relieved to confirm that Sorba Thomas is unharmed following a road traffic accident near to the club’s Cottingham training ground. The club is aware of images of Sorba’s car circulating on social media and can reassure supporters that he has sustained no injuries and emerged from his vehicle completely unscathed.”
Thomas, aged 27, recently transferred to newly-promoted Hull City from Championship side Stoke City before the transfer window closed earlier this month. The Wales international has featured twice for Hull, who currently sit in third place in the league table after three matches ahead of their away fixture against Chelsea on Saturday.
