Qatar Olympic Committee (QOC) and Olympic Council of Asia (OCA) President Sheikh Joaan bin Hamad Al Thani recently toured the Main Press Centre and International Broadcast Centre for the Aichi-Nagoya 2026 Asian Games in Japan.

Accompanied by International Olympic Committee (IOC) President Kirsty Coventry, Sheikh Joaan examined the operational sections, technical equipment, and advanced technologies utilized for broadcast operations, content production, and media coverage.

During the visit, they inspected the studios, workspaces, and broadcasting facilities established to support journalists and reporters arriving from across Asia and the globe. Sheikh Joaan and Coventry also connected with nine young reporters involved in an OCA initiative under the “Asian Games for All” program, discussing their practical experiences in sports journalism.

The 20th Asian Games feature a 427-member delegation representing Qatar, consisting of 243 athletes competing across 26 sports and 32 disciplines through 18 national federations. Running until October 4, the Aichi-Nagoya 2026 Asian Games host approximately 11,000 athletes hailing from 45 countries and regions, preceding Doha's upcoming role as host for the Asian Games in December 2030. To highlight Qatar's presence and preparations for Doha 2030, the QOC established Qatar House at the TIAD Nagoya Hotel.
