Egyptian President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi extended his congratulations to the national civil aviation sector on Sunday, celebrating EgyptAir's historic recognition as the "World's Most Improved Airline" for 2026 by Skytrax.
In an official statement shared on his Facebook page, President Sisi commended the milestone, highlighting EgyptAir's rise into the global Top 50. "I congratulate the Egyptian civil aviation sector on the outstanding achievement of our national carrier, EgyptAir, for winning the 'World's Most Improved Airline' award for 2026 from global rating agency Skytrax, advancing to 46th place globally, entering the list of the world's top 50 airlines, alongside its other international awards and recognition," he stated.
This soaring achievement comes after EgyptAir secured top global honors at the 2026 Skytrax World Airline Awards held in London, earning the prestigious title of "The World's Most Improved Airline." This major milestone reflects a comprehensive overhaul in service quality, fleet modernization, and digital transformation designed to elevate the overall passenger experience.
EgyptAir climbed 22 positions in the overall global rankings to reach 46th place worldwide for 2026, a significant improvement from its 68th-place ranking in 2025. This breakthrough builds on the carrier's strong performance in 2025, during which it was named Africa's most improved airline and received continental recognition for its cabin crew and economy dining.
The Skytrax World Airline Awards are based on independent global passenger satisfaction surveys that assess full-journey service standards, digital adoption, and overall customer experience.
