UAE shooters Saif bin Futtais and Mohammed Ahmed are preparing to secure their spots in the top eight of the men's individual skeet competition at the Asian Games on Wednesday. During qualifying, Bin Futtais successfully shot 95 across four rounds, while Ahmed recorded 93. Both athletes will shoot their final rounds on Wednesday, needing near-perfect scores of 25 to advance to the final.

Taiwan's Meng-yuan Lee and China's Jianlin Lyu currently hold the lead in the standings with matching scores of 120.

Several other UAE athletes are set to compete across multiple disciplines on Wednesday. In cycling, Abdullah Jassim, Mohammed Al Mutaiwei, and Abdullah Al Hammadi will participate in the men’s road race. Meanwhile, Ghaya Shuhail, Reem Al Ketbi, and Mahra Al Suwaidi will compete in the women’s 10m air pistol event.

In swimming, Mohammed Al Yamahi takes part in the men’s 400m freestyle, while fencing events will feature Al Hayam Al Balooshi in the women’s individual foil and Ahmed Al Hammadi in the men’s individual sabre. Zahra Al Hashemi will represent the nation in weightlifting.

The UAE will also feature competitors in esports. Sultan Khalifa Mohammed Hassan Abdulrahman will compete in Gran Turismo 7, and Abdullah Mohammed Saif Bouhnad Al Muhairi, Sultan Rashid Mohammed Marshoul Taheri, and Mohammed Abdulrahman Abdullah Al Banna will participate in the fighting game competitions. Additionally, the UAE football team is scheduled to face China at 9.30am UAE time.

At the Asian Games Aichi–Nagoya 2026, China continues to lead the medal table with 52 total medals, including 31 gold, 13 silver, and eight bronze. Japan holds second place with 45 medals (11 gold, 15 silver, 19 bronze), and South Korea is third with 27 medals (six gold, four silver, 17 bronze). Among Arab nations, Jordan leads the regional standings in 14th place overall with one gold, one silver, and one bronze medal.
