Norway Faces Portugal in UEFA Nations League Clash: Haaland and Ronaldo Ready for Oslo Showdown

Holders Portugal travel to Ullevaal Stadion in Oslo to face an in-form Norway side in Group A4 of the UEFA Nations League 2026-2027. Following a narrow 1-0 win against Wales, Portugal faces a much stiffer test against a Norwegian team that recently made a historic quarterfinal run at the FIFA World Cup.

Led by manager Jorge Jesus, Portugal will be looking for improved finishing after missing a flurry of chances in their opener. Cristiano Ronaldo aims to rediscover his scoring touch, though Portugal will be without the injured Bruno Fernandes, whom Jesus chose not to risk ahead of upcoming fixtures.

Norway enters the match brimming with confidence after a thrilling 3-2 victory over Denmark. Star striker Erling Haaland made history during that win, surpassing Zlatan Ibrahimovic to become the highest-scoring Nordic man in international football history with 64 goals. Alongside captain Martin Odegaard and attacker Oscar Bobb, Haaland leads a formidable Norwegian side eager to test themselves against the reigning champions.

The two teams last met in a 2016 international friendly, which ended in a 3-0 victory for Portugal. Historically, Portugal holds the upper hand with eight wins from 11 matches, compared to Norway's single victory and two draws.
