Minister of Industry Khaled Hashem stated that the textile and spinning sector serves as a central pillar of Egypt’s industrial strategy, highlighting its robust capability to integrate into global supply chains, deepen local manufacturing, and increase exports.

During his visit to the industrial zone in 6th of October City, Hashem toured two specialized facilities focusing on textiles, knitting, dyeing, printing, and finishing to observe production lines and manufacturing stages firsthand.

Hashem pointed out the sector's key competitive advantages, which include labor-intensive operations, moderate energy requirements, and a skilled workforce designed to attract new investments and drive production and exports upward.

At Naga Tex, Hashem examined operations at the facility, which produces approximately 1.44 million meters of fabric annually using 90 percent local components. The company exports roughly 60 percent of its total output to Switzerland, Turkey, Germany, Brazil, and Italy, bringing in about $2 million in export revenue.

The Minister also visited Misr al-Salam for knitting, dyeing, printing, and finishing, a facility boasting an annual capacity of 5,000 tons of dyed and printed fabric with 80 percent local components. This company channels 20 percent of its production to markets in Turkey and Morocco, generating three million dollars in exports.

Concluding his tour, Hashem emphasized the necessity of increasing local components and strengthening integrated production chains to elevate the global competitiveness of Egyptian products and successfully meet national industrialization and export objectives.
