The first Dubai-it Award for Institutions in the Field of Government has been proudly awarded to the emirate's Roads and Transport Authority in recognition of its record-breaking delivery of infrastructure.

Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed, Crown Prince of Dubai, Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Defence and Chairman of the Dubai Executive Council, presented the honour to the RTA, praising the organisation's capacity to complete major roads, bridges and tunnels at twice the global benchmark for speed and operational efficiency.

“Dubai-it means achieving something extraordinary with excellence in record time,” Sheikh Hamdan stated.

Highlighting further achievements, the Dubai Metro has attained an impressive punctuality rate of 99.7 per cent. Additionally, the authority has successfully completed over 250 traffic improvements that have cut travel times by as much as 60 per cent.

The organisation also executed vital infrastructure projects, such as the Infinity Bridge, at costs below the global average while strictly upholding high-quality standards. Over the course of two years, the authority implemented 117 quick-win improvements and introduced 82 services requiring zero waiting time.

Further driving Dubai's future mobility programme, the RTA developed AI-powered autonomous taxis and established an air-taxi station. Road feedback is now systematically monitored and resolved within 24 hours, alongside the rapid expansion of cycle tracks throughout the emirate.

Mohammad Al Gergawi, Minister of Cabinet Affairs and Chairman of the Executive Office of Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid, noted that the award underscores an institutional model founded on sustained achievement and rapid response.

“RTA's approach clearly reflected this philosophy on the ground by combining quality, speed and continuity, turning challenges into opportunities for development and service improvement,” Mr Al Gergawi added.

The Dubai-it initiative was originally launched by Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid, Vice President and Ruler of Dubai, with the aim of embedding a culture of bold ambition and flawless execution across both public and private institutions. The annual Dubai-it Award celebrates individuals, projects, companies and institutions that produce extraordinary results, establishing the benchmark for continued development across the emirate.
