Saudi sports promoter Turki Al-Sheikh has confirmed that the upcoming world title fight between Saul “Canelo” Alvarez and Christian M’billi will proceed as planned in Riyadh on October 31, 2026, despite recent attacks on the nation's airports.

The scheduled matchup in the Saudi capital has faced scrutiny following a series of deadly strikes attributed to Yemen’s Houthis. A projectile strike on King Khalid International Airport recently left one person dead and 11 injured, coming just a day after a prior Houthi strike on the same airport resulted in 13 deaths and over 300 injuries. While the Houthis claimed responsibility for earlier incidents, Sunday's attack remains unclaimed.

Despite the security concerns, Al-Sheikh reassured fans in a social media post, stating that Canelo Alvarez remains fully committed to the bout. According to the General Entertainment Authority chairman, the multi-division champion reached out to confirm his participation regardless of the circumstances, declaring that he fears nothing.

Alvarez, a former two-time undisputed super-middleweight champion, is set to challenge WBC super-middleweight champion Christian M’billi in what marks his first appearance since his defeat against American Terence Crawford in September 2025.
