The highly anticipated fifth Twenty20 International between India and the West Indies was ultimately abandoned due to rain, forcing the five-match series to conclude in a 2-2 draw. The decisive encounter at Bengaluru’s M Chinnaswamy Stadium was significantly delayed, commencing an hour and 45 minutes behind its scheduled start time. The match was subsequently reduced to nine overs per side.

India had reached 118-5 in 7.4 overs when persistent rain returned, leading the umpires to call off the game. A minimum of five overs per side was required for a result, a threshold that could not be met. This marked the stadium's first international fixture since the October 2024 Test match between India and New Zealand. Over 20,000 fans endured the inclement weather in hopes of witnessing a thrilling conclusion.

Their patience was initially rewarded as India's batters displayed aggressive intent after being put in to bat by West Indies captain Shai Hope. Ishan Kishan, Sanju Samson, and Naman Dhir, who remained unbeaten on 24 off just six balls, were instrumental in India's rapid scoring. The Indian team hit eight fours and seven sixes during their brief innings. Kishan notably struck the 100th six of the series, sending Romario Shepherd's delivery over long leg and out of the stadium. However, the weather ultimately had the final say, preventing any possibility of a decisive outcome.
