Angel Reese delivered another stellar all-around performance, spearheading the Atlanta Dream to a decisive 97-71 victory over the Golden State Valkyries in Game 3 of the WNBA Finals. This win gives the Dream a crucial 2-1 advantage in the best-of-seven series.

Reese, the three-time WNBA All-Star and reigning defensive player of the year, followed up her 30-point effort in Game 2 with a game-high 21 points in Wednesday's contest in Atlanta. The 24-year-old also showcased her defensive prowess, contributing 12 rebounds and three steals to stifle the Valkyries' offense. Notably, Reese became the youngest player in WNBA Finals history to achieve consecutive games with over 20 points and 10 rebounds.

The Dream had five players score in double figures, with Rhyne Howard adding 16 points and Naz Hillmon contributing 15. For the Valkyries, Gabby Williams led the team with 15 points.

"We feel good – we’re still pissed that we lost the first game," Reese stated post-game. "We know how good we are; we know our identity. We’re all happy for sure, but it’s going to take more. The job is not finished so we’re going to keep going." Reese also holds the distinction of being the only woman to record consecutive double-doubles in her first three WNBA Finals games.

"It feels good when you’re in the finals – when you can do it at the highest level; this is what I live for," Reese added.

Reese ignited the Dream's offense early, hitting a three-pointer that helped Atlanta establish a 22-12 lead by the end of the first quarter. Although the Valkyries managed to narrow the gap to six points by halftime and even tied the game at 48-48 early in the third quarter, Atlanta responded with an 8-0 run. The Dream then extended their lead to 14 points heading into the final period after outscoring Golden State 25-17 in the third.

Atlanta solidified their dominance in the fourth quarter, stretching the lead to 21 points and effectively sealing the victory. The Dream's strong offensive performance marked a statement win as they aim for their first WNBA title.

Game 4 is scheduled to take place in Atlanta on Saturday. Both the Dream, who have reached the Finals three times previously without a championship, and the Valkyries, the first WNBA expansion franchise to make the playoffs in their inaugural season, are vying for their maiden WNBA title.
