The Egyptian Meteorological Authority (EMA) has issued a weather alert for Saturday, predicting a mix of conditions across the country. Daytime temperatures are expected to be slightly hot in the northern regions, including Greater Cairo, and hotter in the southern parts of Egypt. However, a cooler trend is anticipated during the night and early morning hours.
Light rain, potentially accompanied by thunder, is forecast for parts of central and southern Sinai and the Red Sea Governorate. There is a 30 percent chance of moderate rainfall in areas such as Halayeb, Shalateen, Ras Banas, and the southern Eastern Desert, with intermittent effects possible in parts of the Aswan Governorate. Additionally, a 20 percent chance of light rain is expected across scattered areas of the northern coast and Lower Egypt, potentially extending to Suez Canal cities and Greater Cairo. Matrouh Governorate may experience intermittent moderate rainfall in some areas.
Satellite observations indicate wind activity ranging from 30-40 km/h, affecting Greater Cairo, the northeastern coasts, Lower Egypt, and South Sinai. These winds are likely to stir up sand and dust in regions including Halayeb, Shalateen, the southern Eastern Desert, and the far south of Upper Egypt.
The EMA advises citizens to take necessary precautions against these anticipated weather conditions and to stay informed by following the authority's latest bulletins.
