Egypt Braces for Cooler Weather as Temperatures Drop, Fog Alert Issued

The Egyptian Meteorological Authority (EMA) has forecast a slight decrease in temperatures across northern Egypt, extending to Greater Cairo and northern Upper Egypt, for Thursday. While daytime conditions are expected to remain mild to warm in most areas, with higher temperatures in southern Upper Egypt, a noticeable drop in temperature is anticipated during the evening and early morning hours nationwide.

Commuters are advised to exercise caution due to a visibility alert issued by weather officials. Dense morning fog is expected between 4 am and 9 am, potentially impacting major highways that connect northern coastal areas, Greater Cairo, the Canal Cities, central Sinai, and northern Upper Egypt, leading to significantly reduced road visibility.

Light to moderate rainfall is projected over parts of the northern coast and Lower Egypt. The EMA anticipates that showers could intensify into heavier, localized downpours by Thursday evening along the northwestern coast and in the northern Delta regions. Scattered light rain is also likely across the Canal Cities, with a slight possibility of reaching parts of Greater Cairo and northern Upper Egypt.

Moderate wind activity, ranging between 30 and 35 km/h, is expected to intermittently affect the northwestern coast, Lower Egypt, South Sinai, and the Red Sea governorate.
