The CEO of the Grand Egyptian Museum Authority, Ahmed Ghoneim, confirmed that the museum will temporarily close its doors to visitors on September 2nd. Speaking exclusively to Al-Masry Al-Youm, Ghoneim stated that the specific reasons for the temporary shutdown will be disclosed at a later time.

The Egyptian Travel Agents Associations (ETAA) has officially notified tourism companies regarding this decision. Officials emphasized that the closure is strictly limited to a single day, with no plans for an indefinite suspension of visits.

To prevent scheduling conflicts, the ETAA instructed tour operators to adjust their itineraries accordingly and inform travelers in advance. This measure is part of ongoing efforts to effectively regulate visitor traffic at the Grand Egyptian Museum (GEM).
