Egyptian citizens have been closely monitoring gasoline and diesel prices due to their direct impact on transportation costs and the overall pricing of goods and services. In a statement released in mid-October, the Automatic Pricing Committee for Petroleum Products announced that fuel prices would remain unchanged. This decision was made after a thorough review of various local and global factors influencing pricing, including international oil prices and the exchange rate of the Egyptian pound against foreign currencies.

The Committee's decision to keep petroleum product prices stable follows the resumption of its operations, as directed by the Cabinet. The Committee evaluated both domestic and global economic variables, such as international oil price trends and pricing measures implemented previously, to inform its decision. This review considered the parameters of the pricing mechanism for the July to September quarter in comparison to the preceding quarter, leading to the conclusion to maintain current prices.

As of Saturday, the prices for petroleum products per liter are as follows:

  • 92-octane gasoline: LE 22.25
  • 95-octane gasoline: LE 24.00
  • Diesel: LE 20.50
  • Kerosene: LE 20.50

The prices for butane gas cylinders on Saturday are:

  • 12.5 kg domestic butane gas cylinder: LE 275
  • 25 kg commercial butane gas cylinder: LE 550
